Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Horror Quiz Activity is a Discord Activity that lets people play horror-movie trivia inside a voice channel. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect
- Discord account basics (identify scope): user ID, username/global name, and avatar hash—used to show players and a scoreboard.
- Gameplay session data (ephemeral): room ID, answers, scores, and client events needed to run the quiz. These exist in memory during a session and are not persisted to a database.
- Server logs: standard web logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamps, request paths) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use data
- Authenticate players in the Activity and display names/avatars.
- Run rounds, validate answers, and display scores/leaderboards.
- Keep the service secure, diagnose issues, and prevent abuse (rate limiting).
Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share minimal data with infrastructure providers (e.g., hosting/CDN) strictly to operate the service, and with Discord as required by the Activity platform.
Retention
- OAuth tokens are used to authenticate the Activity session and then discarded.
- Gameplay state is memory-only and cleared when a quiz ends.
- Server logs may be kept for a short operational period and then rotated.
Children & eligibility
This service is for people who meet Discord’s minimum age and your server’s age gate. Do not use the Activity if you are under the required age in your country.
Your choices
- Do not authorize the Activity to prevent sharing your Discord identity.
- Leave the Activity at any time to stop participating.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures (TLS, least-privilege credentials, dependency updates) to protect data in transit and at rest.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
